Mane was linked with a move to Manchester United after Louis van Gaal's side reportedly made a bid for him.
Mane is quoted in the Daily Echo, saying: "In football we always have, like this, many of you move but I have a contract with Southampton.
“I’m happy here, the fans like me, which means I’m doing my job properly.
“I’m happy here – that’s the most important (thing).”
Mane certainly had an impact at St Mary's last season and became a fans favourite during a season which saw him scored a record-breaking hat-trick, the quickest ever in the Premier League, during a 6-1 win over Aston Villa.
Speculation certainly doesn't seem to have affected the winger as he has started to show signs of the form of last season - already scoring four goals in all competition this term, building on the 10 he got in the Premier League in the last campaign.
Given the interest from Manchester United, it certainly shows what a talented player the Saints have on their hands and they will be keen to keep hold of him as long as possible, and so far there are signs of Mane being very professional and getting on with the job at hand.
If his form keeps improving, it's hard to think there won't be interest in him again in the relatively near future. There's no doubt that Southampton will want to keep hold of one of their most promising players and anyone interested in him will be met with stern resistance, and if a move were to go through, they are going to have pay a top fee to take him from their grasp.
