Queens Park Rangers fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the injury suffered by Charlie Austin.
Austin has been sidelined for four weeks due to a hamstring injury he suffered during the Championship game against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Friday evening.
The 26-year-old striker picked up the injury just before the hour mark and was substituted soon after, as QPR went on to lose the London derby 4-0.
Austin is one of the best players in the current QPR squad, and his absence for the next four weeks is a huge blow.
Rangers suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season, and they are aiming to gain promotion from the Championship this campaign.
Former Burnley striker Austin will play a key role in that, and he has already showed this season how important he is for Chris Ramsey’s side.
In nine Championship games so far this season, the former Swindon Town striker has scored seven goals and created 13 chances.
Austin has a pass accuracy of 64% and a shot accuracy of 48%, and has won 29 headers, five dribbles and nine tackles.
Following the news about Austin’s injury, QPR fans took to Twitter to have their say. Below are some of the best comments:
#QPR We are going to struggle without Charlie Austin. Who is going to fill his boots.— Daniel McLoughlin (@danielmcl18) September 28, 2015
As bizarre as it sounds, really think that losing Austin could be a blessing for #QPR and Ramsey if the right man is brought in.— Jordan James Foster (@JordanJFoster) September 28, 2015
Austin's injury is a big blow but the system has to change and let's see if others step up now #qpr— The Artist (@adrummer61) September 28, 2015

#QPR Well this is going to be interesting for a while. I seem to remember us not doing too well without Austin last championship season.— Gary Bevan (@djgazzagrey) September 28, 2015
Without Charlie Austin for the next four weeks. And no adequate back-up striker to throw in. Great squad we got. #QPR— Howardo (@PeterHoward7) September 28, 2015
