Harry Redknapp predicts Arsenal vs Olympiakos

The vastly-experienced coach fancies Arsenal to triumph at the Emirates tonight.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has backed Arsenal to get off the mark in the Champions League when they face Olympiakos on Tuesday night.

The Gunners were beaten in the their first group game against Dinamo Zagreb – a match that would have been ear-marked as three points – and now welcome the Greek champions to London before taking in back-to-back games with Bayern Munich.

A result tonight is vital before they square off with the German giants, and Redknapp believes Arsenal's recent upturn in form will see them through.

"Tonight’s match against Olympiakos is a massive one for Arsenal and I can see them winning it,” wrote Redknapp on Kicca.

“They had a great result at Leicester and while there’s no margin for error this evening because of their shock defeat at Zagreb, I think they’ll get all the points.”

“They need the win tonight as they’ve two ties against Bayern Munich afterwards. But the victory at a good Leicester side shows they’re improving and back in the hunt for the Premier League title.”

Gunners fans will hope Redknapp’s predictions prove accurate, and a win tonight would cap off a fantastic week for Arsene Wenger’s men.

A much-changed Arsenal side got the better of bitter rivals Spurs in the League Cup last Wednesday, before recording an impressive 5-2 win away at high-flying Leicester on Saturday.

Pre-season speculation had Arsenal among the favourites for the title, but their start to the season has been mixed and tonight’s European clash is a chance to lay down a marker for the coming weeks.
