Boyata has been marking Cole in recent Celtic training sessions, with the experienced front-man currently trying to earn himself a contract at Parkhead.
And it seems that the former West Ham United man has impressed his potential teammates with his performances, with Boyata believing that he would add plenty to the squad if signed on a permanent basis.
DB on Carlton Cole: “A really good player. Have played against him before. He can hold up the ball, strong, quick & can finish." (MH)— Celtic Football Club (@celticfc) September 29, 2015
Cole is looking for a new club after his contract at West Ham expired over the summer.
At the moment Celtic have not presented him with an offer, with Deila keen to take a proper look at the 31-year-old before making any decision over his future.
If Cole does join the Bhoys, he will add competition for places up front, with Leigh Griffiths currently monopolising the striking spot in the first-team.
Griffiths has netted eight times in 16 matches this term, but Cole's added physicality would present Deila with a different option in the final third.
