West Ham look well set to secure a top half finish this season.
Speaking to the official West Ham website, Billy Bonds has suggested that the Hammers have the quality to secure a top half Premier League finish, despite the aim before the season started to just remain in the top division.
The club legend said: “Everybody at the start of the season would have said our main aim is to make sure we stay in the Premier League, but with the start we have had you would be disappointed if we didn't finish in the top half of the table and that is achievable now with the players we have got.”
Considering how the Hammers have started the season, a top half finish should be the least Slaven Bilic is pushing for, with the European places truly in their grasp.
Finding consistency with their home form has been an issue so far, with just one victory out of four games, but away from home there has been no team better than the Irons.
Victories over Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have given the Hammers a perfect away record, and proven that West Ham and Bilic are able to defeat the best teams in the defeat.
After seven games, West Ham sit third in the league table, with four wins and two losses taking them to within just three points of first.
By the end of the campaign, it would be no surprise to see them further down the table, but as long as they can keep up their exceptional form, everyone should be seeing the Hammers vying for European football at the end of the season.
