The Liverpool defender is playing his way back into form at the perfect time.

Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno has been speaking to the club’s official website about his return to the first-team fold after previously losing his place to summer signing Joe Gomez.

Moreno was used sparingly at the start of the season with Liverpool playing four at the back, Gomez occupying the left-back position and the Spaniard having to make do with late substitute appearances.

However, more recently Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reverted to three central defenders with wing-backs and that has seen Moreno shine in recent games against Norwich City and Aston Villa.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com this week, Moreno said, “I hope I’m giving the fans something to cheer about with my play and hopefully I’ll continue to impress them with my performances.

Moreno came back into the fold for the recent Europa League game against Bordeaux and since then he has not looked back, suggesting that Liverpool have turned the corner after a run of disappointing results which finally ended with the 3-2 victory against Villa on Saturday.
