Liverpool remain interested in signing Victor Valdes from Manchester United, report The Sun.
The report states the Reds have the Spaniard on a shortlist of potential additions, and are keen to back up Simon Mignolet.
This is despite signing Adam Bogdan on a free transfer during the summer, and seeing the goalkeeper show his shot-stopping ability in a penalty shootout win over Carlisle United.
Valdes was signed by Manchester United last January as a free agent, having been without a club after getting injured and letting his Barcelona contract expire.
He has since played in just two Premier League games, of which one was a start, at the end of last season.
Seen as back-up for David de Gea, manager Louis van Gaal became frustrated with the former Spanish international, falling out with him and leaving him out of the club's pre-season tour to the US.
He was also omitted from the club's Champions League squad, and Sergio Romero was signed on a free transfer to supersede him in the pecking order.
Liverpool could benefit from signing a player of his experience, but Manchester United would have to agree to strengthen a rival, and that could be unlikely, especially if offers from abroad come in as an alternative.
