Marinus Dijkhuizen has stated on social networking site Twitter that he is shocked by Brentford’s decision to sack him.
Dijkhuizen has been dismissed by the Championship club as their first-team head coach.
The Dutchman was appointed the Bees boss at the start of the season, but things have not gone according to plan.
Brentford are 19th in the Championship table at the moment with eight points from as many matches, just a point above the relegation zone.
Dijkhuizen has admitted that he is shocked by the club’s decision to dismiss him, but he has said that he enjoyed his time at Griffin Park.
Completely shocked by our resignation already! Too short but I enjoyed working at Brentford. Escpecially the fans and atmosphere at GP.— Marinus Dijkhuizen (@MDijkhuizen9) September 28, 2015
Brentford have appointed Lee Carsley as the head coach of the first team until the end of the season. The 41-year-old has been working as manager of Brentford's development squad.
The Bees will take on Birmingham City at home in the Championship on Tuesday evening.
