Leeds fans reacted strongly to Erwin's brace for Leeds' under-21 side.
Leeds United forward Lee Erwin sent a message to head coach Uwe Rosler by scoring a brace for the under-21s against QPR.
The summer signing from Motherwell is yet to play a single first team minute in competitive football for Leeds since arriving, even overlooked for a bench spot.
He was left out as Leeds faced League One side Doncaster Rovers in the Capital One Cup a month ago, a match in which they could have benefited from playing an attacker keen to prove himself.
Erwin was selected in a strong under-21 line-up on Monday to face QPR, and scored two second half goals. The game ended 3-3, with Souleymane Doukara, who came off the bench for the first team 24 hours earlier, netting the third.
The forward was not picked for the under-21s last week, and has struggled to score goals early on this campaign, but Monday's performance has the potential to open doors for him.
Sending Erwin out on loan is one possibility, but with Chris Wood missing the game with Middlesbrough through injury, the club's need for depth in attack was highlighted.
Letting him leave temporarily without giving him a chance could be an opportunity missed for Uwe Rosler, especially as Souleymane Doukara appears uninspired in his cameo appearances for the first team.
Fans had a near unanimous message for Rosler in response to Erwin's performance... here is a look at what was said via Twitter...
