Everton stunned West Brom last night by overturning a comfortable lead for the home side to come back and win 3-2.
Striker Romelu Lukaku will get the headlines for his impact, but the performance also carried significance as it featured Darron Gibson's return to action.
The central midfielder has seen his Everton career damaged by injuries since joining from Manchester United, and earlier this year he was in the press for off field matters (see Mirror report here).
Gibson came off the bench for the final 20 minutes of the game at The Hawthorns, and had a calming effect on the Toffees' midfield, going onto complete 100 per cent of his passes.
He also won one tackle, as he helped his side keep their momentum, along with fellow substitute Arouna Kone, who scored the equaliser.
Gibson had been dealing with a metatarsal injury which delayed his start to the season, and had played just 70 minutes of under-21 action before last night.
His cameo performance certainly impressed supporters, who appeared pleased to have the Irishman back as an option. Here is a look at the reaction to his display via Twitter...

I really enjoy watching Darron Gibson play the game of football. Just an absolute shame he is so injury prone. Remember #TheGibsonEffect!?— Nick Casey (@1NE_LOV3) September 28, 2015
Darron Gibson adds so much to the Everton team when he's playing. Pity he can't stay fit— Ger McNally (@GerMc31) September 28, 2015
Darron Gibson is still our best CM when fully fit.— Stephen McSweeney (@Ste_1878) September 28, 2015
Who'd of thought a Darron Gibson and Arouna Kone substitution could change a game— Tom (@0ASlS) September 28, 2015
