The Portuguese forward, on loan from Benfica, opened his account in La Liga in sensational fashion with a pinpoint free-kick against Sevilla, showing perhaps Manchester United were right to spot his talent after all.
Loaned to La Liga minnows Rayo Vallecano for the season by current club Benfica, the 27-year-old got off the mark for his new Spanish employers in a 3-2 defeat to Sevilla at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Already 2-0 down by half-time, it was Bebe's goal that inspired a brief comeback from the visitors with the former Manchester United man stepping up on 51 minutes to score with a stunning free-kick from distance.
Buoyed by this superb goal, Vallecano eventually levelled the scores on 68 minutes through Javi Guerra and looked on course to secure a valuable draw against the Andalusians.
But, with just four minutes of normal time remaining, the hosts' summer signing Yevhen Konoplyanka found the net for Sevilla, securing an important win in the process.
Despite this, Bebe's goal will have gone some way to proving that Manchester United were perhaps correct to gamble on the Portuguese attacker all those years ago.
He may have failed to make the grade at Old Trafford but, on the basis of this goal alone, this may not be the last we hear from Bebe this season.
