Middlesbrough won 3-0 against Leeds United on Sunday with Giuseppe Bellusci having a match to forget for the visitors.

Leeds United had a game to forget when they travelled to the Riverside Stadium to take on Middlesbrough this weekend.

Some awful defending and a poor refereeing decision cost Uwe Rosler’s side and on another day -with another centre-back in place of Giuseppe Bellusci – Leeds may well have taken at least a point from this encounter.

As it was Middlesbrough ran out comfortable winners courtesy of goals from David Nugent, Diego Fabbrini and an own-goal from Bellusci.

The Italian centre-back was picked from the start despite the availability of Liam Cooper, and Leeds fans questioning that decision were quickly proved right when Bellusci’s mistake led to Nugent’s opener, before the Leeds player inexplicably headed past his own goalkeeper with a diving effort.

A later mistake from defensive partner Sol Bamba saw the game ended as a contest when Fabbrini finished coolly past Marco Silvestri but it was Bellusci’s performance that had plenty of Middlesbrough fans talking at the final whistle.

Some Boro fans were even calling the Leeds player one of their own after his calamitous outing.

After the match we took to Twitter to see what Middlesbrough’s supporters had to say about the Leeds player’s contribution to their victory and you can read a selection of what we found below:
