A select round-up of the latest news relating to Leeds United…
Leeds United take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium this afternoon with Uwe Rosler’s side currently in 14th position in the table, six points behind second-placed Boro.
That relatively small gap in terms of points shows just how quickly things can change in the Championship and while it will not be easy, a win for Leeds here and they will move tantalisingly close to the promotion places with nine games played.
In early team news, the BBC reports that Rosler has no fresh injury concerns, although they suggest Sam Byram may be overlooked due to his failure to sign a new deal.
Summer signing Jordan Botaka is being tipped to feature at some point in what would be his debut appearance.
In other news, Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has been speaking to the club’s official website about the upcoming clash with Leeds.
“I think Leeds are a really good and organised side,” he said. “I like the manager a lot. He’s organised and passionate and he transmits that passion to the team.”
Only time will tell if Rosler’s passion is enough to inspire Leeds to victory this weekend, but it will certainly not harm their chances.
