Kane was impressed with the performance of the Argentina international attacker against Manchester City at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
During the 86 minutes he was on the pitch, the 23-year-old Lamela took four shots, had a pass accuracy of 76%, created two chances, put in four crosses, attempted three dribbles, and made one interception.
England international striker Kane, who also scored for Spurs in their 4-1 victory over the Citizens, has spoken highly of the former AS Roma star, and has claimed that the Argentine has not been affected by criticism.
“He (Lamela) is a top lad, he’s a very hard worker on the training field,” the 22-year-old told London24.com.
“He’s never let it (the criticism) affect him, he’s carried on practising, working hard on his own after training and stuff. He deserves what he gets.”
Lamela has been frustratingly inconsistent for Tottenham since his move to the North London outfit from AS Roma in the summer of 2013.
However, the former River Plate star is playing with confidence at the moment and has been one of the better players for Spurs since the international break.
In six Premier League appearances so far this campaign, Lamela has scored one goal, created 16 chances, has a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 43%, and has won one header, attempted five dribbles and nine tackles.
