Video: Newcastle United boss produces the strangest moment of the season

Steve McClaren

Any idea what Steve is doing here? Nope, same here... but it sure was funny!

If you've ever paid attention to the sidelines at a football match, you'll have seen some managers doing some absolutely odd things.

From Rafa Benitez's strange hand waving to Alan Pardew's little penguin dance, it seems managers are all a little bit... weird. It probably comes with the territory of having to work in the Premier League.

However, we reckon this effort from Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren might just top all of the crazy things managers have done in the past.

Why? Well, with the game against Chelsea entering its final stages, and the hosts searching for a late winner, McClaren decided to throw Dutch attacker Siem de Jong on.

But, while waiting to get De Jong on, McClaren also decided to shout at his players while... holding onto his Dutch player's arm. It gave us the most truly bizarre moment of the season so far.

We cannot and will not stop watching it and we reckon you'll give a good few watches now!

McClaren is under pressure at Newcastle, of course, but saw positive signs during the Magpies' 2-2 draw with Chelsea. Whether that had anything to do with... whatever it is the Newcastle boss is doing... remains to be seen.
