Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler admits Lee Erwin may be sent out on loan

The former Motherwell forward arrived at Leeds this summer.

Leeds United recently snapped up Will Buckley on loan from Sunderland in a deal commended by most fans at the club.

His arrival however seems to be the last at the club for the rest of the season. Uwe Rosler told his press conference today that no more players are likely to arrive on loan for the time being – but that a recent recruit might be loaned out.

He told his press conference today that Lee Erwin could be loaned out by the club this month. His quotes are reported in the Yorkshire Evening Post, stating:

“Yes. I think now we are getting a squad that is good in numbers. I don’t think it’s a big squad but we don’t now have a small squad.

“We have good numbers where everybody has a chance to come into the 18 still and has the chance to play but you have to compete and there is probably also a chance for us to maybe loan out one player maybe for development reasons – not to push someone out to the side.

“My wish is to make everybody better and sometimes I can’t give him that playing arena.

“I can give him the training arena and the technical and tactical arena but I can’t give him the playing area.

“But it is also my duty to find a development area for him on the playing arena. I couldn’t have done that before but now I can do it and I feel much more comfortable now than I did five or six weeks ago.”

This will come as a shock to many, who felt Erwin was arriving as a first-team player. However he has not got a look in since his contract arrival from Sottish outfit Motherwell – with the unpopular Souleymane Doukara even trumping him in Rosler’s eyes.

Erwin now looks set to be on his way out to a new team to aid his development, with plenty of League One and Two teams likely to be keen in snapping up the 21-year-old Scot.

Rosler also confirmed that Casper Sloth could also be sent out on loan this season.
