Gary Neville reacts on Twitter to Manchester United going top

Manchester United

Manchester United are the current Premier League leaders.

Gary Neville has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Manchester United going to the top of the Premier League table today.

As things stand at the moment, United are a point clear of Manchester City in pole position, having picked up 16 points from seven league games so far this season.

City were expected by many to maintain their position at the top of the table this weekend, but they suffered a rather shock 4-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the afternoon.

The Red Devils defeated Sunderland 3-0 at Old Trafford just hours later to leapfrog their city-rivals into the top spot.

Former United defender Neville is happy to see Louis van Gaal’s side go top, but he does not expect them to stay there at the end of the season.

United did not make a great start to the 2015-16 Premier League campaign, but in recent matches they have started to play well.

Not many Premier League observers will back them for the title, but one should not totally write off their chances.
