Don Hutchison reacts on Twitter to Younes Kaboul's defending v Manchester United

The Sunderland centre-back was atrocious once again, this time at Old Trafford.

Former Sunderland midfielder Don Hutchison has criticised Younes Kaboul's defending after Sunderland's 3-0 loss at Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

Kaboul has made a disastrous start to life at the Stadium of Light and it continued with yet another poor performance at Old Trafford this weekend.

Hutchison summed up the Sunderland centre-back's display with a thumbs down - doing the same for midfielder Lee Cattermole - and showing a picture on Twitter of how the duo's performances were being analysed on television.

Sunderland's defending has been notoriously bad, of course, and not just this season.

But one strike against the name of boss Dick Advocaat - and another strike against the Sunderland board that sanctioned the deal - is the fact the Black Cats have taken a huge risk bringing yet another struggling defender into the fold.

How can you improve a poor defence by signing a poor defender?

Kaboul was terrible last season and it's been continually documented that Sunderland appear to have made a mistake signing the 29-year-old. His form to date suggests no different. It may already be time to ditch him...
