The Premier League is of course a hotbed of talent and it is very rare to see a player at this level having a poor touch. Of course, they are all human, and every now and again one goes astray.
But who is the worst in the league?
It is a statistic dominated by strikers. They are often left chasing and stretching in difficult moments to control the ball so it is no surprise to see that it is a forward who currently tops the pile.
Here is the current top five players in the Premier League regarding loose touches, with a West Ham United man at the top of the pile.
|Position||Team||Unsuccessful Touch||Appearances||Mins Played|
|Diafra Sakho||FW||West Ham||26||6||521|
|Salomón Rondón||FW||West Brom||21||5||387|
He might be prone to the odd error and for being something of a clumsy operator, but his two goals this season are likely to get noticed.
Among the top five however are some several high-profile names. Chelsea’s Diego Costa and Southampton’s Sadio Mane are present along with Callum Wilson of Bournemouth. But keep eyes peeled on Salomon Rondon. Sneaking into the top five without playing as much football, West Brom’s newbie needs to work on his touch.
