Van Gaal comments on Wilson's availability on loan

Louis Van Gaal

Derby County and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reported to be keen on signing James Wilson from Manchester United.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has confirmed at a press conference today that he could be set to loan James Wilson out in December.

Wilson has found first-team appearances hard to come by this season, but Van Gaal is not prepared to let him out on loan yet.

The Dutchman wants to assess his quality, but he has not ruled out letting him leave Old Trafford on a temporary basis in the near future.

If United do decide to loan out Wilson, then it looks likely that Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County will be at the front of the queue for the youngster's signature.

Wolves' interest in the England youth international was confirmed by Kenny Jackett to the BBC, while Derby have been linked with him in the Daily Mail

Wilson, meanwhile, will be hoping to impress in development matches to prove that he could have a part to play for the Red Devils this season.

United had struggled for goals over the early part of the campaign, but the arrival of Anthony Martial seems to have solved their problems up-front.
