Antalyaspor are leading an ambitious charge in Turkish football.
Emmanuel Adebayor is a transfer target for ambitious Turkish outfit Antalyaspor, according to the club’s President Gultekin Gencer.
He is reported to have told BGN News that he is keen on the signature of big name players going forward, including recently released Tottenham star Adebayor. He doesn’t stop there. He also made it clear that the club are also keen on bringing in Liverpool defender Kolo Toure and Mattias Delgado of FC Basel.
“Our transfer list is thick and includes the likes of Adebayor and Kolo Toure. Former Beşiktaş player Matthias Delgado also can’t wait to join the club.”
Adebayor was finally released by Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month. The Togo striker had been told by Mauricio Pochettino that his services were no longer required at White Hart Lane – but failed to negotiate a move away from the club during the transfer window.
His release allows him to find a new club to begin his recovery from his Tottenham spell, but not a Premier League club. As Adebayor was still registered as a Tottenham player when the transfer window shut, he cannot join another Premier League team until January.
Toure meanwhile remains in the Liverpool squad but has struggled for first-team football recently. He has played just once this season, picking up a yellow card in the 1-1 draw with Bordeaux in the Europa League.
Antalyaspor snapped up Samuel Eto'o from Sampdoria this summer and tried to bring Victor valdes from Manchester United, so are certainly a team with ambitions for the future.
