The versatile attacker has stated that the club’s supporters were great on Wednesday and expects the same against Manchester City.
New Tottenham attacker Clinton N’jie has stated that he felt the atmosphere at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night against Arsenal was wonderful and told the club’s official website that the fans have an important role to play this weekend.
The versatile forward was signed from Lyon in the summer but has yet to start a game for the North London giants.
N’jie was introduced in the midweek Capital One Cup clash against rivals Arsenal as Spurs chased a goal, but had a limited impact on proceedings in the dying minutes.
With the Cameroon international in consideration for this weekend’s clash against Manchester City, the 22-year-old has called on the White Hart Lane faithful to make their voices heard against the league leaders.
N’jie admitted that he feels that the club’s fans will play an important role in Spurs getting a result against Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
“The atmosphere was wonderful on Wednesday and the supporters did a great job,” N’jie told the club’s official website.
“I hope we’re going to have the same on Saturday. The fans are always behind us and that’s very important for us.”
N’jie’s arrival diversifies the attacking options available to Mauricio Pochettino, with the Argentine manager yet to find his ideal blend of personnel in the final third.
Spurs fans will hope that the African attacker can get a chance to feature soon, with a lot of hype surrounding the star after an impressive campaign in Ligue 1 last term.
