Michael Owen predicts Tottenham v Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur will face Manchester City at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Saturday.

Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Manchester City will win against Tottenham Hotspur away from home this weekend.

Tottenham will host City at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Saturday, and former Liverpool star Owen believes that the Citizens will pick up all three points.

Spurs must bounce back from the disappointing defeat to North London rivals Arsenal midweek and manager Mauricio Pochettino has to rally the troops ahead of City’s arrival to the Lane on Saturday,” the former Manchester United striker wrote in his Betvictor.com column.

“The visitors will be wounded animals themselves after their shock defeat to West Ham at the Etihad, however Manuel Pellegrini has a squad with plenty of characters and City appeal at a shade under even money to bounce back in the Capital.”

Former Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage has also backed City to win and has predicted on William Hill Betting that Argentina international striker Sergio Aguero will score in North London.

Tottenham will head into the game at White Hart Lane on the back of a 2-1 defeat to North London rivals Arsenal in the third round of the League Cup.

Prior to that loss, Tottenham had won three games in a row in all competitions: 1-0 against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League, 3-1 against FK Qarabag in the Europa League Group J, and 1-0 against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane in the league.

Meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini’s City side made a blistering start to the season, before going down 2-1 at home to Juventus in the Champions League Group D and then 2-1 to West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

The Citizens returned to winning ways on Tuesday evening when they got the better of Sunderland 4-1 away from home at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League.
