Man Utd v Sunderland predicted lineups and match preview

Manchester United will look to keep the pressure on local rivals Manchester City at the top of the Premier League when they host Sunderland.

To be played on Saturday 26th September 2015 at 15:00. Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester

Odds: Man Utd 4/17, Draw 6/1, Sunderland 14/1

If there was such a thing as home banker, then this is surely this weekend's, as a Manchester United side growing in confidence with every game host a Sunderland side bereft of it, with Dick Advocaat's side needing good results, and fast, after a disappointing start to the season which has them rooted to the foot of the Premier League table.

After one or two minor blips, there is a feeling that United's season is about to motor along. They no longer have the transfer saga surrounding David De Gea to worry about, they have players returning from injury and a striker that is finding the net regularly in Anthony Martial - whose inflated price tag is looking more like a bargain with each time he finds the net.

When the fixture list came out, Sunderland will have been looking at the schedule and thinking they should have more points then they currently have considering that they have played a few sides who either finished in the bottom half of the table last season, or were promoted from the Championship.

Their League Cup defeat to Manchester City in midweek will have done nothing to build their confidence, or help Advocaat devise his best XI, but now they enter their more difficult period of fixtures, they really need to start finding ways to get some positive results.

Anything other than a home win here would be viewed as an upset.
