The Aston Villa man has been discussing the striker's start to life at Villa Park.
Aston Villa's Leandro Bacuna is confident forward Rudy Gestede will go from strength to strength after netting his second goal for the Midlands outfit this week, according to the club's official website.
Indeed, the 26-year-old netted a famous winner against Birmingham City in the Capital One Cup and Bacuna is delighted the 'hard worker' has received due reward for his efforts.
And he feels there is far more to come for Gestede.
Bacuna is quoted as saying by the Villa site: "For every striker it's good to score goals - especially in a derby game.He deserves it. Rudy is a hard worker.
"It was a huge match and the fact he scored the goal to win it, especially as it's been a while since our last win, was great for him and for us as a team.
"It was a great cross from Jordan Amavi and he put in a great performance - as did Jordan Ayew when he came on. Rudy has shown already what a good striker he is with two goals. I'm sure he'll go from strength to strength now."
Since Gestede joined Villa, there have been two camps - one that wants the 26-year-old to start more often and one that thinks the target man isn't quite good enough to score regular goals at Villa Park.
Gestede has already secured hero status, however, even if scoring the winner against Birmingham in the Capital One Cup is the only significant achievement he ends up accomplishing at Aston Villa.
He has plenty of time to add to that tally, though, and going on a goalscoring run would certainly aid his side, alleviating some of the pressure that a poor start has already brought upon manager Tim Sherwood.
Will Bacuna's prediction come to fruition?
