The Brazilian forward is open to a future move to Manchester United.

Yesterday saw Barcelona superstar Neymar admit that he had held talks about a move to Manchester United this summer.

The Brazilian forward told ESPN Brazil:

"There were conversations but nothing concrete.

"There were rumours but I did not receive any offer."

Now Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has been talking about the revelations, with some exciting news for Manchester United fans going forward to the future.

The Sky Sports pundit told a question and answer session on the Sky Sports site that Neymar had no intention of ever joining United in the summer just gone, but that the attacker is serious about one day heading to Old Trafford in his career.

Balague stated:

“Categorically, no [he did not consider joining United this summer]. Is he considering doing so in the future?

“Categorically, yes. It is going to be the saga of the next 12 months or more, his new contract with Barcelona. FCB want him to sign it now, he is not in a rush.

“Why? I think he feels he will not be the best player in the world while at Barcelona, with Messi leading the team. So he has to decide if he stays and waits for Messi to move on, or goes to a team that will build around him. So keep an eye on this!”

Of course United fans will hear this with joy. Neymar is one of the biggest stars in world football and last season scored 39 goals in 51 appearances for Barca. This term he is already on three goals in five games and the 23-year-old would be an incredible signing from Manchester United.

Of course Balague might have just been referring to the idea of Neymar heading to England. It is well known that the Brazilian is a big fan of the English Premier League and that one day he might make it to the UK.
