England assistant set to watch Jack Grealish in action for Aston Villa this weekend

The young midfielder will be in action against Liverpool this weekend.

Aston Villa take on Liverpool this weekend with one man’s visit set to get many a player from both teams hoping to impress – including Villa talent Jack Grealish.

The attacking midfielder has clearly shook off any remnants of his recent injury trouble with some excellent recent performances for Villa.

That form and talent has of course had him at the centre of an international tug-of-war between England and the Republic of Ireland.

This weekend England are showing their hand by sending assistant boss Ray Lewington to Anfield to watch the player in action – although others will also be on his radar – according to The Mirror.

But it is a chance for the Villa lad to show the England number two just exactly what it is the two nations are fighting over.

The Villa talent was born in Solihull but has Irish ancestry. He has played for the Republic of Ireland youth team from the under-17 age group up, and has been called up to the full senior side in the past.

However, with the finality of such a decision at stake, Grealish decided to reject the call-up in order to decide whether he was to represent Ireland or England in his international career.

Ireland and England are both in action next month and it will be interesting to see if either nation gives him the nod.
