Slaven Bilic has told the Daily Star that he feels West Ham United have an advantage heading into their weekend match against Norwich City, as they played their Capital One Cup fixture a day earlier than the Canaries.
The Hammers were knocked out by Leicester City on Tuesday night, before Norwich won against West Bromwich Albion 24 hours later.
And Bilic believes that the extra day of rest afford to his side could be crucial, as his side will be fresher when they take to the field again on Saturday.
"It gives us an advantage as Norwich had one day less playing Sunday-Wednesday as opposed to Saturday-Tuesday. It should give us a small advantage," he explained.
“Norwich are a really good team, we know it will be a difficult game, they have started very well. We have watched a few games, they are full of confidence. They defend as a unit and are very solid. They are not a spectacular team but they have everything pace, ability, size.”
West Ham and Norwich have been two of the Premier League's surprise packages so far, with both teams defying expectations.
Bilic's men currently occupy third position in the table, having already beaten Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal on their travels.
Norwich, meanwhile, are comfortably sitting in mid-table, and were able to pick up a very credible point against Liverpool at Anfield in their most recent top-flight outing.
It means Saturday's match at Upton Park should be keenly-contested, with both sides having shown what they are capable of on their day.
