Ryan Mendes has scored his first goal for Nottingham Forest, to put them 1-0 up against Huddersfield Town.
The winger is on loan from French side Lille, after securing a surprise switch from the Ligue 1 club ahead of the transfer deadline.
Mendes began this season playing for Lille against Paris Saint-Germain, and the early signs are that Forest have managed to acquire a gem.
The loanee is a Cape Verde Islands international, and is making just his third start for his new club.
He made his debut earlier this month in the away win at QPR, and managed to provide an assist. He was on the bench for the subsequent win over Birmingham City last week, but started at the weekend against Middlesbrough.
Nottingham Forest are looking for a creative spark to fill the void left by Michail Antonio, sold to Premier League side West Ham, and Mendes appears to be seizing his opportunity.
