Former Leeds United forward John Hendrie has told the Middlesbrough official site that Uwe Rosler's men have nothing to lose this weekend.
The Whites travel to the Riverside Stadium to take on title favourites Boro, who have had a superb start to the campaign under Aitor Karanka.
Meanwhile, Leeds have had a solid if unspectacular start to the season, with Uwe Rosler losing just once in the Championship so far.
This weekend's clash may be the toughest test for Rosler's side so far though, but the German can take heart from the fact that Leeds were also expected to lose at the Riverside Stadium last season - but claimed a gutsy 1-0 win with a remarkable defensive showing.
Another performance of that ilk may be required this weekend too, but John Hendrie - who played for both clubs - has told the Middlesbrough official website that Leeds will play a high tempo game, before predicting what Rosler will tell his players before the game.
"Rosler’s teams always play at a high tempo, but they’ll certainly be underdogs because everyone fancies Boro this year," said Hendrie. "Knowing Rosler he’ll tell the players that they have nothing to lose and they’re live on Sky so he’ll tell them to give it a good go," he added.
Leeds are unbeaten away from home in the league this season, and both of their Championship victories have come on the road too - and though it will take a huge display from Rosler's side to claim all three points this weekend, he does possess the quality as well as the grit in his squad to get a result.
