The Algerian has been linked with Arsenal and Barcelona after a sensational start to the season.
Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez's agent Kamel Bengougam has been discussing the player's future with BBC World Service, with comments that offer encouragement to Foxes fans hoping to see the 24-year-old winger staying at the King Power stadium, at least in the short term.
Mahrez has been in astonishing form this season, scoring five goals and setting up three more in the Premier League as Claudio Ranieri has taken Leicester into the top four in the early stages of the season.
Unsurprisingly, the former Le Havre's performances have caught the eye of a whole host of Europe's top clubs according to this recent Mail report, which states that Arsenal, as well as La Liga giants Barcelona are keeping track of the player.
But Bengougam expects his client to stay where he is at least until the end of the season, suggesting there has been no offers for Mahrez.
"The day that a club - from their own mouth - says we want Riyad Mahrez, that will be concrete interest," he told BBC World Service. "At the moment it's just the media talking about certain things season."
Bengougam also suggested Leicester should do whatever they can to keep hold of the player, with the Foxes strengthened by the increased TV money made available to Premier League clubs this season.
“I don't know the future but I think the club needs him," he added.
"This year the TV rights deal kicks in and all the teams are desperate to stay in the Premier League. If I was in their position I wouldn't sell him.
"It's now a year and a half that he's there and he's very happy. Now, if in January there's a possibility we'll see, but today it's not something to be thinking about.
"We're not in a transfer window period so there's no need to talk about a transfer at the moment."
