Rangers lost 3-1 to St. Johnstone on Tuesday night.
Rangers suffered their first defeat of the campaign on Tuesday night, losing 3-1 to St. Johnstone at Ibrox in the Scottish League Cup.
New manager Mark Warburton had won all 11 of his competitive matches before heading into the clash, and his winning streak has now ended after a disappointing evening.
Goals from Murray Davidson, Simon Lappin and Michael O'Halloran put St. Johnstone 3-0 up, before James Tavernier pulled a goal back for Rangers.
The night served as something of a reality check for Rangers, showing that they still have some work to do before they can think about success in the top flight again - and fans were particularly disappointed with Nathan Oduwa's performance.
The 19-year-old winger is on a season-long loan from Tottenham, and has so far impressed with his pace and outstanding trickery out wide.
Yet against St. Johnstone, Oduwa struggled to make an impact - and Rangers fans took to Twitter after the game in order to discuss his performance.
Fans labelled him 'unbelievably frustrating' due to his lack of end product, and suggested that the teenager needs to work on his final ball if he is to reach his potential - something Spurs fans may be interested in hearing having seen Oduwa earn so many plaudits this season.
As a youngster, Oduwa still has room to develop, and he has already impressed on numerous occasions this season, making some of the criticism slightly harsh - but here are the reactions from Rangers fans after Oduwa's performance against St. Johnstone.
I like the flair that Oduwa brings to the game but I think the guy needs to take more chances on goal. Came really close last night.— JOHN BORELAND 1690 (@BorelandJohn) September 23, 2015
Oduwa is skillful and can beat a man but he's patently not a winger. His instinct is to stop and take players on not run and cross.— Staunchius Pilate (@StaunchusPilate) September 23, 2015
Oduwa needs to stay focused and professional. Showboating & entertaining the fans is great but only when we have a solid lead— Sharbear (@weesharbear) September 22, 2015
Oduwa looks good with all the fancy foot work but his decision making and tracking back need severe work.— Scott Macmillan (@scotty_morse) September 22, 2015
Oduwa is unbelievably frustrating. Needs to work on his decision making... Perhaps the downside to inexperienced players.— Alex (@alexo93) September 22, 2015
Oduwa thinks hes now a superstar cause he has done a couple of tricks against part timers. He needs a reality check— Ed Hodge (@EdHodge1872) September 22, 2015
Far from only one, but Oduwa needs to realise not everything's a flick and a trick. Get the ball down and beat a defender, for once.— Jonathon Moar (@jonathonmoar) September 22, 2015
Oduwa is one of the most frustrating players to play for us in some time.— Iain (@CemetryGates89) September 22, 2015
Oduwa is hugely talented but the final ball is his development area— Ross (@Ross81UK) September 22, 2015
Oduwa has been pretty ineffective tonight. Too slow and not direct enough. He can be awesome to watch, but tonight's not been his night— Island bear (@willienic) September 22, 2015
