Paul Robinson singles out what Daniel Levy sees in Mauricio Pochettino

The former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper has been discussing the current man in charge.

Ex-Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson is impressed with what Mauricio Pochettino has done at White Hart Lane and feels Daniel Levy is too, according to talkSPORT.

Indeed, Robinson says the Argentine was brought to north London by the chairman due to what he saw him do with Southampton's young players - with longevity in mind.

And, asked if he thinks Pochettino is set to stay for the long term, Robinson replied 'yeah, I do.'

He then told talkSPORT's Drive at around 5pm: "I think he was brought in with the future in mind. I think Daniel Levy’s seen what he did at Southampton with the young players and I think he was looking for longevity in a manager."

Can Pochettino enjoy several years at White Hart Lane?

During his time so far at Tottenham, Pochettino has proved an interesting case study. He's had some very good moments. The emergence of Harry Kane, a run to the Capital One Cup final and finishing fifth - whether all his doing or not - have all happened under his watch.

He has often frustrated with tactics, team selections and substitutions. Yet, at the same time, some brilliant decisions have also won games - and the mere fact he was able to beat Chelsea and Arsenal in the fashion he did last season guarantee some fond memories down the years.

Is Poch at Spurs for the long term? Right now, with the likes of Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son blending in very nicely, there is nothing to stop the Tottenham boss going on a fine run of form in north London.
