After a goalless first half, West Ham United-owned winger Matt Jarvis broke the deadlock just past the hour mark.
Lafferty, making a rare appearance for Norwich, doubled the home team’s lead with a fine low finish in the 85th minute, and minutes later West Brom defender Sebastien Pocognoli scored an own goal.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at Carrow Road, hosts Norwich had 59% of the possession, took 12 shots of which five were on target, and earned four corners.
Following the match, Lafferty took to Twitter to express his delight at scoring for Norwich.
Buzzing to get on the pitch tonight and delighted to get a goal. Reception I got coming on means a lot, thank you. As much as I'd love to— (@LaffK) September 23, 2015
Play or play a part on Saturday. I know one goal will hardly have much of a say. Be patient work hard and my time will come.— (@LaffK) September 23, 2015
