Middlesbrough to strike Adam Reach and James Husband deals

HITC Sports understands the Championship promotion favourites will agree loan deals for left-sided pair as Aitor Karanka tinkers with his squad.

Middlesbrough are ready to let Adam Reach leave the club on loan whilst allowing James Husband to extend his stay at Fulham, HITC Sport understands.

22-year-old Reach has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs but Wolverhampton Wanderers - who lost to Boro in the League Cup on Tuesday - are in pole position to land him.

Reach, who can play anywhere down the left, has played his part for Boro this season but the recent arrival of Uruguayan winger Carlos De Pena has seen him slip down the pecking order.

Whilst still in Boro's long-term plans, boss Aitor Karanka is keen for him to get first-team football and is set to sanction the move, with a recall clause set to be included.

Reach would join team-mate James Husband in playing for a Championship rival, as the left-back is currently with Fulham and they are keen to extend his second agreement with the club having already had him last season.

Husband has twice joined Fulham in deals that have seen Fernando Amorebieta move to the Riverside. Fulham boss Kit Symons is now hoping a deal will be agreed for Husband to remain at Craven Cottage.

Symons told West London Sport: “Hubby’s been brilliant and I’m delighted we’ve got him. The longer we can keep him that would be great.”
