Lewis McGugan’s goal in the 76th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides, as the Magpies’ season goes from bad to worse.
Steve McClaren’s side are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment, and the manager is coming under pressure.
Former Newcastle forward Quinn was following the match, and he was far from impressed with the performance of the team.
Former Celtic player Adam Virgo, who now works as a Channel 5 pundit, criticised Newcastle’s decision to appoint McClaren as their head coach in the summer, pointing out the collapse of Derby County in the second half of last season.
Virgo, though, believes that Brendan Rodgers will be sacked as the Liverpool manager before Newcastle dismiss McClaren.
How can Newcastle appoint a manager that failed with Derby with a good squad of players. Oh year managers move when they have been rubbish— Adam Virgo (@Adamvirgs19) September 23, 2015

Liverpool have also made a disappointing start to the 2015-16 Premier League season, with manager Rodgers coming under pressure.
