Mathieu Flamini stepped up to do what Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez have struggled to of late.
The Frenchman scored two goals to give Arsenal a 2-1 win over rivals Tottenham at White Hart Lane,
The second was a superb volley from the edge of the box, for which he demonstrated outstanding technique to give goalkeeper Michel Vorm no chance at all.
His winning goal prompted quite a reaction, with former Spurs player Gary Lineker and ex-chairman Lord Sugar among those to applaud via Twitter.
They were joined by ex-Arsenal heroes Ian Wright and David Seaman, who praised the midfielder.
Have to admit that's one hell of a finish by Flamini.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) September 23, 2015

The brace from Flamini was as impressive as it was unexpected. He scored as many goals in 90 minutes as he had done over the previous 58 games for the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger could quite easily have sold the Frenchman in the summer, as he has not been a part of his first team plans so far this season.
Keeping him around will have been worth it for this alone.
