Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has told the Foxes' official website that he thought West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian put in a man of the match performance in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night.
Leicester beat West Ham 2-1 after extra-time, but the performance of the Hammers' stopper impressed Ranieri, after the Spaniard made a number of excellent saves.
“I think that West Ham’s goalkeeper is man-of-the-match tonight," Ranieri said. "But we deserved to win. We wanted to win against a first team. West Ham put all their first team players in and I’ve very, very pleased.
“We kept going all the time. Our fitness is very good. Now it’s important to take the good points. That’s very important."
Leicester's match against West Ham was a pulsating one, which highlighted everything that a cup tie should be.
Both sides went all-out for the win, but it was ultimately the Foxes who celebrated after what was a fiercely contested battle at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester took the lead in the first-half through Joe Dodoo, but they were pegged back when Mauro Zarate struck an equaliser for the visitors.
Both sides then pressed to score a winner, but one did not come until the 116th minute when Andy King popped up and sent the Foxes' supporters into delirium.
The victory continues Leicester's fine start to the new campaign, where they have gone unbeaten through their first eight games in all competitions.
