Norwich City ran away comfortable winners against West Brom in the League Cup last night, with one fringe player impressing throughout.
Kyle Lafferty may be a hero for the Northern Ireland national team at the moment but he has struggled for football at Carrow Road. Thrown in last night for his first Norwich start since being subbed at half-time against Brentford in January.
In that game he went up against his Northern Ireland team-mate Stuart Dallas – who he is good friends with.
Dallas is now at Leeds United and recently his pal Lafferty was linked with a potential loan move to Leeds in the emergency window.
Lafferty even hinted that Leeds could be a genuine location, as reported by Ulster TV, stating:
“My striker partner for Northern Ireland Stuart Dallas is at Elland Road, we have got very close during this campaign and it would be great to link up with him if that’s what happens.”
Last night Lafferty scored once and played a major part in Sebastian Pocognoli’s own goal. His form certainly earned him a cheer from his Leeds pal.
Dallas Tweeted last night:
Lafferty’s performance however might have seen him force himself into Alex Neill’s plans for the Premier League that might mean his potential availability for a loan deal going forward becomes less likely.
