Karl Robinson has his say on Dele Alli's potential England chances

The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder has been impressive this season.

Tottenham Hotspur fans are rightly becoming excited with the performances of young midfielder Dele Alli at the moment – as the teenager continues to impress in his debut season at the club.

Alli was signed in January from Milton Keynes Dons for a fee reported by the BBC to be in the region of £5 million but was immediately loaned out to his boyhood club for the rest of the season.

His manager at MK Dons was Karl Robinson. The MK Dons boss has been speaking to Sky Sports News today (23/09/2015) about the teenager, suggesting he can go on to be as good as he wants in his football career.

“He can be as good as he wants to be. I actually phoned him yesterday just to say well done for his start.

“Nothing has ever fazed him.

“I think you saw on Saturday that physically he is phenomenal, he covers so much ground.

On whether or not Alli should be in the England team for the upcoming European Championships in France this summer, Robinson remained non-committal:

“That is way beyond my years and the position I am in now, that’s not for me to say. I am sure Roy Hodgson will have his ideas about who he will take as a wildcard but he ticks a number of boxes.”

There have been rumours doing the rounds lately regarding Alli’s potential for an early England call-up, with the October fixtures against Estonia and Lithuania a potentially perfect opportunity to test out new players for the Euros.

Alli has recently added some attacking guile and physical presence to the Tottenham midfield and it has clearly paid off with Spurs winning their last three games in all competitions.

Tonight he will hope to continue his impressive form in a North London derby clash against Arsenal.
