Dario Del Fabro, of brief Leeds United infamy, has found himself a new club. It had been reported in the past month that Serie B side Ascoli, recently promoted from the third tier of Italian football, was on the way to Ascoli.
Now that deal has been confirmed, just before the closure of the Italian loan window.
He arrived at the club along with Nicola Bellomo of Chievo – as confirmed on their Twitter account.
The Italian youth international arrived at Leeds from Cellino’s former club Cagliari on a season-long loan deal in August to provide cover in the defensive department.
However his time with the club was not a success, despite his obvious talents.
He played just once in the whole season, a 1-0 loss against Sunderland in the FA Cup in January. He was then implicated as part of the ‘sicknote six’ along with Mirco Antenucci, Giuseppe Bellusci, Souleymane Doukara,Marco Silvestri and Edgar Çani in April – pulling out of a game with Charlton Athletic just 24 hours before kick-off.
Now he is with Ascoli and will be hoping to prove himself at his latest loan destination.
