Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a talented 17-year-old striker.
The 17-year-old has already scored three goals in eight Super Liga appearances this season and he has netted a total of 10 goals in 35 senior games to date.
That form has allegedly prompted Tottenham’s attention and the North London club are said to have sent scouts to watch the teenager both this season and last.
For a time, if Jovic had ultimately arrived at Tottenham the pressure on him to be an instant hit would have been considerable; after all, Spurs were becoming over-reliant on Harry Kane and he himself was struggling to replicate his form from last season.
But Tottenham’s recent business means that if Jovic does follow in due course – either in January or next summer – the teenager will now have the chance to blossom at his own rate.
The additions of Heung-Min Son and Clinton N’Jie mean Tottenham now have the quality attacking back-up they need to push on this season, and the former has already proved what a canny signing he was with three goals in his last two matches.
N’Jie is also a very good player and if Tottenham do ultimately bring Jovic to White Hart Lane they will be building an exciting forward-line with its best years still ahead.
