Will Buckley's Sunderland career appears close to ending, with Leeds United announcing a loan deal via their official website, with an option to buy.
Buckley has not featured for the Sunderland first team in the Premier League this season, despite their poor form.
Manager Dick Advocaat has decided he could do without the winger's talent even though they could probably do with all the help they can get right now, with just two points from six games.
Instead Buckley had been playing for the under-21s to keep his fitness up, and will return to play in a division he knows well.
Sunderland bought him on the back of strong performances in the Championship for Brighton and Hove Albion, following boss Gus Poyet to the Stadium of Light.
He scored 19 goals during his time at Brighton, while at Sunderland he failed to get onto the scoresheet.
Buckley may point to a lack of a regular run in the side; for he only managed 24 appearances in all competitions since his £2.1m move a year ago.
Sunderland fans believe the winger could well be a success in the Championship, but just was not cut out to make an impact for their club.
Here is a look at the reaction via Twitter...
Buckley to be fair will probably do a decent job at Leeds #SAFC— Scott (@76skelly) September 21, 2015
Buckley's out the door on loan, sensible decision. Will there be more outgoings of the players that probably won't feature? #SAFC— Simen Torve Sundland (@Simeninho) September 21, 2015
Hope Buckley gets the games he no doubt wants at Leeds. Good luck to the lad I say. He's not a PL player though. #SAFC— Graeme Atkinson (@SAFCElvis) September 21, 2015
