Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher hailed Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli on the Live Ford Super Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 on Sunday afternoon.
The former Liverpool defender claimed that that he likes the fact that the 26-year-old Belgium international gets goals and underlined that as a major reason why he plays pretty much regularly for Spurs.
“What I like about him is he gets goals,” said Carragher about Chadli on the Live Ford Super Sunday show on Sky Sports 1 in the build-up to Tottenham's Premier League game against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon. “I think he has got four or five in his last 10 or 12 games.
“For a midfield player, that is a good ratio, and that is why he stays in the team… He is the one player who chips in and that is why Pochettino has faith in him.”
Chadli is an unheralded player, but he is an important one for Tottenham and remains very much part of Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team plans.
The Belgium international has been on the books of Spurs since the summer of 2013 when he joined them from Dutch club FC Twente.
During the 2013-14 campaign, the winger scored one goal and created 31 chances in 24 Premier League appearances.
Last season Chadli found the target 11 times and created 41 chances in 35 league matches, while so far this term he has scored one goal and created 14 chances in six Premier League fixtures.
While it is clear that the former AGOVV Apeldoorn star chips in with goals, he needs to create more chances.
