Newcastle Celebration

The Newcastle United Under-21 side played out a 2-2 draw with the West Ham United Development team at the Boleyn Ground on Monday evening.

Newcastle United forward Ivan Toney has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at scoring for the club’s Under-21 side on Monday evening.

The 19-year-old started the Newcastle U21 side's match against West Ham United’s Development Squad at the Boleyn Ground.

The youngster, who joined the Magpies from League Two outfit Northampton Town in the summer transfer window, wore the captain’s armband and scored in the 2-2 draw.

Toney found the target in the 32nd minute of the encounter, having come close to scoring just minutes earlier.

The English teenage talent was delighted with his goal and expressed joy on Twitter, and he was also impressed with his teammate and 18-year-old forward Callum Roberts’ goal.

Roberts, who scored for Newcastle in the 88th minute after bursting through the West Ham defence, was happy with his overall performance but disappointed with the team’s first-half performance.
