The former Aston Villa player wishes he was involved this evening.
Villa are not in the best of form right now and are currently 17th in the Premier League as a result, but their players will be up for this encounter with the Championship club, knowing full well that they do not want to lose back-to-back derbies after crashing to a 1-0 defeat against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.
Taylor made 235 appearances for Villa between 1994 and 2003, scoring 28 goals in the process and he will be keeping a very close eye on proceedings at Villa Park this evening.
“So wish I could be on that pitch tonight,” Taylor wrote earlier today but it is up to the player’s currently at manager Tim Sherwood’s disposal to get the win their fans are crying out for.
Victory will be a huge boost ahead of the weekend fixture against Liverpool as Villa look to climb away from the bottom three as soon as possible.
