Championship interest mounting in Arsenal's teenage forward Alex Iwobi

HITC Sport understands several sides have expressed an interest in taking the youngster on loan.

Alex Iwobi is set to feature for Arsenal in their North London derby clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, and a host of Championship clubs are watching him closely, HITC Sport understands.

Iwobi impressed during the pre-season Emirates Tournament, and Arsenal rebuffed a number of enquiries earlier in the summer.

Now Arsene Wenger is considering letting the 19-year-old forward gain experience out on loan, and there is no shortage of clubs ready to hand him the chance to impress.

The Nigerian-born teenager was one of the stand-out players in Arsenal academy set-up last season and has already been involved with the first-team, as he was selected on the bench for their Champions League clash at Galatasaray last term.

Now Wenger is ready to use him at White Hart Lane, with a view to then sending him out on loan.

HITC Sport understands half-a-dozen Championship clubs have made contact with the hope of landing Iwobi.
