Sunderland supporters have called for Duncan Watmore to be included in their starting line-up, after he netted a hat-trick for the club's development side against Manchester City.
The Black Cats beat City 3-0 in their most recent outing, with Watmore's goalscoring instincts helping them to a convincing victory.
It was a display which highlighted the 21-year-old's undoubted ability, and Sunderland fans are keen to see him given an opportunity in the first-team.
Sunderland have struggled for goals this season, and have not hit the back of the net in either of their last two matches, but Watmore could add more of a threat to their attacking line-up.
So far the youngster has been used sparingly, with most of his appearances coming off the substitutes' bench, but he does have two senior goals to his name already.
Although Watmore is still lacking in experience at the very highest level, his potential is vast and his consistently excellent form for the club's under-21 side proves that he is ready for the step-up to senior football.
Sunderland's next match comes against Manchester City in the Capital One Cup, and most supporters appear to be hoping that Watmore features in the contest.
If Dick doesn't pick Watmore soon then it's time he returned the flowers. We clearly have a talent on our hands.....use him!!!! #safc— Tom Derivan (@tomderivan73) September 20, 2015
Got to the stage where Duncan Watmore shouldn't even be in the under 21 side. Have him on the bench at least every game #safc— David Allison (@davidallison88) September 20, 2015
Watmore hat-trick today, he needs to be getting more minutes in the first team #safc— Louis Booth (@LouisBooth92) September 20, 2015
I'm sure Watmore would have put away Defoes two chances yesterday #safc— Tom Dunn (@Dunntom) September 20, 2015
Duncan watmore hatrick again, surely he's got to be given more of chance,if #SAFC don't give him that chance he'll be off to a team that will— jane moran (@janey1000) September 20, 2015
Watmore was too ill to play yesterday but has a 50 minute hat-trick today. He won't be getting near first team if he keeps scoring #Safc— David Place (@samsonplace) September 20, 2015
