David Gold tweets promise to West Ham fans about Bilic's team selection

Slaven Bilic

The West Ham co-owner responded to a follower about the upcoming Capital One Cup clash with Leicester City.

West Ham United co-owner David Gold has promised fans on Twitter that the east London side will take a strong team to Leicester City in the Capital One Cup this week.

Indeed, Gold was asked by a follower on social media whether there would be many changes made to the team ahead of the cup clash.

And the West Ham co-owner has reassured supporters that Slaven Bilic will take a side to Leicester that is designed to win - unlike in the Europa League when the east London club were knocked out.

The Hammers travel to Leicester City on Tuesday night, having just beaten Manchester City in the Premier League over the weekend.

The consideration for Bilic, of course, is the fact West Ham face Norwich City in the top flight four days after the Leicester game.

There is also the possibility of extra time against the Foxes, adding another variable for the Irons coach to evaluate.

It may be the perfect time to try out some younger players, while there will be several other West Ham squad members raring to start at the King Power Stadium.
