The Owls have won just two of their opening eight Championship matches, but Carvalhal insists that chairman Dejphon Chansiri will give him time.
The Portuguese manager says that Chansiri has been pleased with Wednesday's performances so far, and he feels that the team are in a good position.
“I’m not under pressure because I have confidence in what we are doing," Carvalhal said. “The chairman has also given me confidence because he has seen the last two matches in Thailand. He has suffered a lot. He said we are in a good way but we just need to score more goals with the good football we are playing.
“He knows we missed a lot of chances and deserved much more against Burnley and Bolton. All the time he believes we are in a good way and has given massive confidence to us."
Wednesday's latest performance was arguably their finest of the season, as they beat Fulham 3-2 at Hillsborough.
The Owls showed their attacking quality against the Cottagers, and there were signs that things were starting to click after a summer of upheaval.
Wednesday made sweeping changes to theirranks during the most recent transfer window, with Chansiri backing the side with funds to strengthen, and expectations have been raised as a result.
The Owls are determined to get promoted to the Premier League, and Carvalhal will be under no illusions that their current position of 14th will need to be improved by the end of the season if he is to continue counting on Chansiri's backing.
